Hypering and Surrection (2025) - excerpt

Within the work hypering is thought as a possible way of going beyond places - of warping places and exploring (and possibly escaping) affective goo and ambient stickiness of places, allowing for multiple places to appear (and coexist) within the same Receptacle.

A soundbox placed on the field next to my childhood home in the Western part of Jutland where I grew up before relocating to Copenhagen 25 years ago. The soundbox is playing back a song I remember from my childhood and is recorded from afar (listen and get to know which song it is).

The work is suggesting that hypering of mediation might surrect ways of listening in which notions of neutrality, clarity and the site specific are scrambled in simultaneous processes of place making, nonplace making, displace making and replace making.
